KATE RIGG's comedy career began the second she graduated with a degree in acting from New York's prestigious Juilliard school. A notorious culture and subculture vulture, the allure of the club scene in New York drew her to Caroline's Comedy Club where she quickly caught the attention of the New Talent Booker who slotted her for a series of appearances and features showcasing her particular brand of character based comedy, edgy socio-political commentary, asian american slanted jokes, and in your face dirty girl talk.

Within her first two years on the scene, she was invited to the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, the Toyota Comedy Festival, The Marshalls Women in Comedy Festival, and developed her first one woman show for NBC's New York based workshop space PSNBC, and the HBO TIme Warner workspace in Los Angeles. This show "Kate's Chink-O-Rama: featuring the chinkorama dancers" is a new york city favorite at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater and has toured extensively to comedy festivals, colleges and special events around North America. Her follow up "Birth of a nASIAN" was part of the Mark Taper Forum's Summerfest, ran for two sold out seasons at La Mama ETC in New York, toured nationally, was taped at the Comedy Central Theater in 2007 for their website, headlined both the "We're Funny That Way " festival in Toronto, and the Vancouver International Comedy festival and will be presented in 2008 by the Smithsonian Institute for their a/pi Heritage Month performance.

As a standup comedian Kate has appeared on NBC Late Friday, STAR TV, National Lampoon's International Comedy DVD, Vh1's Awesomely Bad Series, Comedy Central's Special on Women in Comedy, CTV's Comedy Now, and has hosted 20th Century Fox's Singalong Sound of Music, The Asian American Heritage Fest in Union Square Park, The Heritage of Pride Rally in Bryant Park, the Black and Blue Ball in NYC, countless special events, Cultural Festivals, Fashion Shows Pageants and Benefits such as the Angel Island Benefit in San Francisco, The Asian Women's Giving Circle Benefit, and has also produced various comedy shows including Desi-licious the southasian comedy gurus, Yellow Fever, Lea De Laria's Super Gay Comedy Show and created The Naughty Show for Eagle Rock Entertainment, currently on DVD in wide release, the hit series Gonzo Girlz for RIPE TV and Time Warner On Demand. She performs regularly in clubs in New York and L.A.
