Biography: Dave Mowers

Dave Mowers - director impresario dramaturg -

Dave Mowers has directed plays and sketch comedy for ten years in New York City, regionally, and internationally. Since winning the Drama League Fall Production Fellowship, he has directed plays for Manhattan Theatre Club, The Atlantic Theatre, Charlotte Repertory Theater, Delaware Theater Co., The Actor'sGang, and The Moth. He is a resident Shakespeare "Regiseur" for Thesbitheateret, Tonsberg, Norway, where he stages an annual summer production. For this work, he was awarded a medal by the king for his cultural service to the nation. He teaches writing and directing for NYU TISCH, and Second City, New York. As a writer, his plays have been seen at Second City Theater in Chicago, the New York Fringe Festival, and in productions around the country. He has been Critic's Pick in the Chicago Reader for every solo he's presented there, and won a Fringe First Award for his solo in the NYFringe. Chinkorama is his third collaboration with Kate Rigg, including Somebody's Kid and Birth of a nAsian.
